WP 4 Recommendations for improved health and safety conditions during geotechnical construction
Objectives
GeoTechNet has as objective to reduce site hazards and the number of accidents during construction and as a consequence to improve the health and safety conditions for workers and third parties during geotechnical construction. In order to realise this objective GeoTechNet will gather relevant data, determine priorities and formulate a report with recommendations for future RTD to improve health and safety conditions during geotechnical construction. The European Federation of Foundation Contractors (EFFC) is involved and supports the realisation of this subject.
A first draft document "Recommendations for Reduction of Human Impact of Geotechnical Construction Sites" was produced and is available on this web site.
Description of work / tasks
- WP4.1. Collecting European data and statistics of accidents related to geotechnical engineering practice (before month 12)
- WP4.2. Analysis of the data, and determination of the priorities (which geotechnical construction methods are the most dangerous or have the greatest site hazards for workers and third parties during construction) (before month 24)
- WP4.3. Compilation of the gathered data and drafting of a report with recommendations for improved health and safety conditions during geotechnical construction. (before month 24).
- WP4.4. Discussion and presentation of the draft report at the GeoTechNet workshop 2, and subsequent amendment of the document.
Deliverables
- D6. A draft document “Recommendations for improved health and safety conditions during construction” (before month 24).
- D7. A final document “Recommendations for improved health and safety conditions during construction” (before month 45).
