The official starting date of the Network is 1 December 2001. We have a period of 4 years to make a success of our thematic Network for the geotechnique

 

For the time being GeoTechNet has about 40 members of 17 European countries.

But it is our challenge to extend the Network with more (corresponding) members and to have contacts with other national and international geotechnical networks.

CUR, Gouda, The Netherlands is the Network Co-ordinator and carries the overall responsibility for the accomplishment of the Network. Joop Koenis’ background is civil engineering. He combines 14 years of research and research management experience at Delft Hydraulics, 7 years of research management experience at HBG
(a major contrac­tor in the Nether­lands and other European countries) and 6 years of research co-ordination experience at CUR.
